Red pikmin are the best fighters in the first game (purples are in the second) and they are resistant fire. You find the red pikmin first in "Pikmin" and " Pikmin 2" and cant survive water unless you call them right away. Red pikmin have wide eyes and have a nose and also sort of resemble a carrot. Like all pikmin they can mature from leaf, to bud, to flower which makes them fight better, and more swift.
